SafetyWing Nomad Insurance 3.0 – health and travel insurance for nomads

This post has been done in collaboration with SafetyWings

Big news for fellow travelers and digital nomads! Insurance company SafetyWing has just launched two new Nomad Insurance plans – Essential and Complete – tailored for every kind of adventure and especially suitable for the full nomadic lifestyle. In this article we take a short look on the content of these new insurance plans.

To put it short, the Nomad Essential Plan offers emergency medical coverage with add-ons like adventure sports and electronics protection, whereas the Nomad Complete Plan takes it up a notch with all-inclusive health insurance covering routine care, mental health, maternity, and extended travel coverage.

As you may know, we have been constantly on the move for over seven years already, and especially when traveling outside EU, we have found it hard to get insurance that really fits the nomadic lifestyle. The biggest challenge has been the very limited offer of insurances that can be bought when you are already traveling. These new plans of SafetyWing got that covered, as they are designed for a life without borders. SafetyWing offers Nomad Insurance plans for global citizens from 180+ countries, and filing a claim can be done online, from wherever you may roam.

So what has changed compared to the previous insurance plans that SafetyWing has been offering? The new plans are sort of a simplified version of the previous Nomad Insurance, clearly divided in two options. Now it’s super simple to choose between the two packages based on the type of your trip and your coverage needs. Furthermore, this updated version of SafetyWing Nomad Insurance unifies the previous travel medical insurance and health plan under one label.

Even if you are traveling on a tight budget, never try to save money by not insuring yourself! Travel insurance is one of the ESSENTIALS that long-term travelers should always take care of, since you never know what kind of turns life is going to take next. SafetyWing has created great packages that cover the needs of long-term travelers, and we are happy to announce, that we have become their Ambassadors, spreading the word of travel insurance packages suitable for nomadic travelers like us! The program also has monetary benefits; ambassadors get affiliate income when new insurance policies are taken through their links, and as an ambassador you get 100 euros when a new ambassador you have recruited brings a new ambassador along! And if they bring 5 new ambassadors, you will receive 500 €, which is a very nice travel bonus, don’t you think!?
